The JWI J-Mate sludge dryer has been one of the most successful continuous sludge dryers utilized throughout the metal finishing and industrial wastewater industries. Originally developed by JWI and later sold through US Filter, Siemens, Evoqua and Xylem, thousands of pounds of metal hydroxide sludge are dried every day utilizing these systems.
Although ownership of the product line has changed several times over the years, many JWI J-Mate sludge dryers remain in service today.

How Does the Sludge Dryer Wet Scrubber Work?
Hot, moisture-laden exhaust air from the sludge dryer enters the wet scrubber where it is contacted with water. The water helps capture particulate carried in the dryer exhaust before the air passes through the separation section and is discharged by the blower.
Met-Chem uses this same basic wet-scrubbing approach on its current sludge drying systems. Met-Chem's sludge-dryer design draws heated moist air from the dryer through a wet scrubber specifically to remove airborne particulate before exhaust
