Whether your dryer was manufactured under the JWI, USFilter, Siemens, Evoqua, or Xylem name, these machines remain in service throughout North America, and many facilities continue to rely on them every day.

Met-Chem maintains an original factory manual covering the most common JWI continuous sludge dryers:

  • JWI J-Mate 120G

About the JWI J-Mate Sludge Dryer

Companies That Manufactured or Supported the J-Mate Dryer

Companies That Manufactured or Supported the J-Mate Dryer

The JWI J-Mate Series was one of the most widely used continuous sludge dryers installed in industrial wastewater treatment facilities.

Unlike today's batch sludge dryers, the J-Mate utilized a continuous feed design that allowed dewatered sludge from a filter press to be fed directly into the dryer while dried product exited continuously.

Thousands of these systems were installed throughout:

  • Metal finishing
  • Electroplating
  • Chemical manufacturing
  • Printed circuit board facilities
  • Industrial wastewater treatment plants

Although the JWI brand has changed ownership multiple times, many of these dryers continue operating today with proper maintenance.

  • JWI
  • USFilter
  • Siemens Water Technologies
  • Evoqua Water Technologies
  • Xylem

Regardless of the nameplate on your machine, many of the mechanical components remain similar.

Met-Chem continues to support owners of these legacy systems with replacement parts, technical assistance, and complete replacement dryers.

When Should You Replace Instead of Repair?

Many JWI dryers have been operating for over twenty-five years.

While many repairs are economical, there comes a point when replacement becomes the better investment.

Common reasons customers replace older dryers include:

  • Obsolete electrical controls
  • Burner upgrades
  • Increased maintenance costs
  • Corrosion
  • Reduced efficiency
  • Capacity increases
  • Safety improvements
  • Easier maintenance

Met-Chem manufactures modern sludge dryers that can often replace older continuous dryers while reducing operating costs and simplifying maintenance.
